I'd be more than happy to play with a buncha shitty bands. I love putting people in their place if they suck asshole at music and act like they're hot shit. My band's playing a show with a folk band a week from now, and they were kinda dicks to us. So we're just gonna kick ass opening for them and play like we're closing the line-up.

Playing with shitty bands (HI!) is one thing, but playing with a bunch of obnoxious BROS in a crummy, obnoxious Ska band is another.

The sad thing is that it was supposed to be taken seriously. Then the solo guitarist tried to make it look like he wasn't actually trying to be a part of it and ripped on the band as a whole, making himself look more like an asshole.
