X-Rays damaging equipment

I'm getting ready to have to take a bunch of trips to the airport and I someone told me that a bunch of X-Rays could damage my Electronic gear. I am traveling with 2 electribes and some pedals does anyone know anything about this?

Don't know about the electribes but the pedals should be fine, infact X-Ray machines are sometimes used to clone gooped pedals.

Sounds like a heard it on the grapevine type statement.

x rays can possibly damage camera film (especially highly sensitive films). I would consider tape a possible consideration? maybe a tape echo?

As stated, I've taken pedals with me twice to arizona and back and they worked fine.
