X-Rays damaging equipment
I'm getting ready to have to take a bunch of trips to the airport and I someone told me that a bunch of X-Rays could damage my Electronic gear. I am traveling with 2 electribes and some pedals does anyone know anything about this?

Don't know about the electribes but the pedals should be fine, infact X-Ray machines are sometimes used to clone gooped pedals.
Sounds like a heard it on the grapevine type statement.

10 seconds of google searching http://www.howstuffworks.com/airport-security4.htm
"A common misconception is that the X-ray machine used to check carry-on items will damage film and electronic media. In actuality, all modern carry-on X-ray systems are considered film-safe. This means that the amount of X-ray radiation is not high enough to damage photographic film. Since electronic media can withstand much more radiation than film can, it is also safe from damage. However, the CT scanner and many of the high-energy X-ray systems used to examine checked baggage can damage film (electronic media is still safe), so you should always carry film with you on the plane. x rays can possibly damage camera film (especially highly sensitive films). I would consider tape a possible consideration?
maybe a tape echo?

Re: X-Rays damaging equipment
As stated, I've taken pedals with me twice to arizona and back and they worked fine.
