So there's a 60's Guild Thunderbird on my local CL, for a very reasonable price ($1100 Canadian). Pickups look to be non-original, but I figure that if I'm able to snag this I can hang on to it for a little while and then hopefully flip for a decent profit. I'm really not in the market for another guitar, but I can afford to buy it right now. Thoughts?
Looks like no guitar for me, haven't heard back from the seller yet and the ad is gone. Oh well, I was just hoping to have a weirdo guitar for a bit and then hopefully flip for a profit.
I don`t think you can get much profit with it for this price. but it is still cool axe to have some fun, and I guess it will be easy to sell it because of that hype for Dan Auerbach`s guitars now
At that price you needed to be on it asap. The pickups were changed but originals can be found without too much trouble.
Oh well, I'm sure a guild fanatic scooped it up.
Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if someone offered more than the asking price. I also wouldn't be surprised if it pops back up on my local CL, or vintage guitar shop, with original pickups and a much higher price tag. That's what I was planning if I'd been able to snag it.
