ATTN DIYers want a deal on 1Kft rolls of 22awg strand wire?

Post by onthetundra »

I have a huge supply of assorted colors of 22awg strand copper wire in 1000 foot rolls. I am looking to see how much interest there is and then do one mass shipment. The cost is $55 per roll and that is with shipping included (in the US). If you are outside the US it wont be much more. Email me if you want a roll or two or more. Thanks, Mark -- MAKESOUNDSLOUDLY@GMAIL.COM

Couple questions.
How many strands in the wire?
PVC or Teflon (or?)
Thanks

Other questions:

Is it pre-tinned? How about bonded?

I use #26. SUCK IT.

Good deal here as long as the wire is half decent!

I prefer 24 but this supply is crazy cheap so Im switching to 22. Let me know if you guys want any. Its great wire. I was paying 7 dollars per roll of 100ft 24awg but this supply of 22 is a far better deal.

I got my 24 gauge pre-tinned millitary spec wire for like $45 for 1000 feet.

... looks like the price has gone up. But it's still pretty cheap. They also have the same wire in a non-tinned (about the same price), and 19 strand ($70 a roll)

I've been using Alpha Ecowire lately. Stuff is ace. They describe it similar to the Beldin, but the datasheets show that it's even thinner. It's cheaper, too, but still really expensive compared to standard PVC wire. It really does handle soldering way better than PVC. It's super flexible, too... almost to a fault. It will not stay put without some help.

I don't know how environmentally friendly it really can be, honestly... it's still plastic. But PVC is pretty toxic stuff to produce-- one of (if not the) worst plastics.
