I hate to break it to you, but that's Roger singing those verses. Dave sings the "there is no pain, you are receding" parts, you know, the vocals that actually sound good
Holy shit my whole life is a lie

So yeah Roger sucks LOL

Amazing songwriter, phenomenal lyricist, decent bassist, atrocious singer.

Ah, this is a very common technique! See, he stole Thom Yorke's voice and added a bit of opera. And I'm pretty sure, by his own admission, Yorke stole it from Jeff Buckley... I made this little poster thingy to track the vibrato LOL... you could do another one that showed Yorke in the middle and his influence... it would be like, Muse, Coldplay, Travis, for vocals...

It's because this thread is about not liking a band based solely on voice and Muse is just garbage through and through. :)*

An important distinction to make!

Muse have some okay songs. If you can't hit every note on "Knights of Cydonia" on at least medium difficulty you have some work to do

Muse has like two songs that I really like, but so much garbage. Broken clocks are right twice a day yada yada.

If the point of this is that I should appreciate things that are original, that avoid cliches, and that are actually worth a fuck, then I don't see how one can conclude that liking The Doors is a good idea. Call it cognitive dissonance.

I wish Jim Morrison were still alive so that you could be embarrassed of him. Bald, old, fat Jim Morrison, just crooning along on the amber waves of grain. Good thing he never rhymed "fire" with "desire;" now I know how to have a successful/immortal career: be a shitty musician/singer, avoid obvious rhymes, and die.

ONLY MORE BALD.

I felt like this thread has gone off track. No one has mentioned The Doors in a while.

"It's a bit early in the midnight hour for me
To go through all the things that I wanna be
I don't believe in everything I see
You know I'm blind so why'd you disagree"

That rhyme, though...
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.
