Same, the novelty of that effect wore thin very fast for me. Although, I imagine it's more popular these days with other players than the Gate mode on RV-5 (which is funny because I've grown to love gated reverb and would have used that a lot more).

I like that there's a dynamic reverb on it, those can be really handy, although handier if you can control the side-chaining of any of the reverbs instead of just whatever specific algorithm is in that mode. That's probably outside the scope of a compact pedal though. I wonder what the delay+ mode is.

Really like the aesthetics on that dd-500. Already telling myself I'll be buying one when it drops. Curious what stateside pricing will be, will definitely be prymaxe'ing this one, need that discount cause I'm a cheap ass.

I need to hear a more indepth demo, really. Also want to know if it has Tap divisions, since that's my jam. Which reminds me of my idle hope that strymon releases a new Timeline so that the prices of the old one divebomb, thus allowing me to finally try one. :excellent:

Actually, if the DD-500 is around 250, I might pick it up on the spot... :snax: My delay quest is only getting worst.

I've only seen euro pricing and its on par with the small box strymon stuff so thinking it will be about 3 bills, so hopefully $255 out the door with discount.

Word on the street is it can run 2 algos at once.

I'd provide you with a sauce, but I'm pretty sure it came straight from the mouth of the horse that is BOSS

If it's that cheap there's no way I'm buying a timeline

Can definitely see myself using a DD-500. Don't know why they keep including battery options though :idk:

Arrives in 14 working days? Listed at £259. Strymon small boxes usually list at £249 so we'll see. Getting ansy on how soon these actually may be dropping.

"By default, the A, B, and TAP/CTL switches offer intuitive control for two patches, bypass, bank selection, tap tempo, and more. However, they can be customized to operate in alternate ways, such as providing top-level access to three different delay patches, or allowing you to use two patches at once for layered delay sounds. Instead of tap tempo, you’re able to assign the TAP/CTL switch to various real-time functions like Warp or Twist for a wide range of expressive effects."

^from the boss site.
the specs on this thing absolutely slay the timeline. each algo has dedicated controls for 4 band EQ, modulation and ducking.. 32 bit A/DA conversion.. current draw is half that of the timeline too.
suck on that strymanz.

i agree that batteries are pretty silly nowadays but Boss' user base does extend very far into 'old people who want to power things like a television remote' and 'annoying busker with loop pedal' territory, so :idk:

Other thing I can tell you is the interface looks drawn from the GR-55/GT100 on the LCD.

That's a good thing in terms of likely editability and functionality.

Battery operation is still huge for a lot of players, if nothing else as a backup.

If I needed another delay I'd certainly look at this (and may anyway!)

Fuck. I need that boss.
I'm really curious about the looping capabilities more than the delay modes.
Delay+Looper simultaneously would be teh shiet and I will sell the timeline for $600 in TGP.

IT HAS MIDI!

Think the RV-6 is worth getting over the RV-5? I've been thinking about getting an RV-5 pretty much just for the modulated verb.
