This. His demos usually reduce the likelihood that I'll buy the product.

This caught my attention when I began noticing forums gush about the "unique Moog chorus" tone.
I was GASing for some interesting modulation, but ultimately went vintage PolyFlange instead.

If I wanted something to gig/take on the road...the MF Chorus is more of a practical option...but the drive tone is a sticking point.
Guess I truly am that guy who just seems to prefer vintage, big box effects 9/10x :idk:

some notes on why:
NSFW: show
The Minifoogers are all SMD. I prefer effects with 1sided PCB in case there's need for minor repairs...so they don't become major productions. I wanted something for home/studio use that can be resurrected 10, 15, 20 years down the line if I still have it...and the company is out of business.

The tone when overdriven. Chorus in particular is super finicky about that, and so am I when it comes to chorus. Flange tends to be considerably more forgiving. Clean the MF is gorgeous...but demoes suggest it wont like being slammed with the full output of a Harmonic Percolator.

The price/depreciation. Scored the PolyFlange for $100 more and can recoup what I paid whenever, if I'm ever done with it.
[B/S/T shoutouts] Shortlist: Hollow Earth|Ct5|856|Condor|Thermae|OP-1|half track reel2reel|Prophet6 ... :whoa:

Almost didn't buy an Elements because of his demo. Glad I watched the Kayzer video right after. Phew.

Yeah. I can deal as long as the pedals don't come with the backing tracks though.
I find those cheesy demos interesting in a way because once you place the pedals in such a clinical, controlled demo format they all start sounding way more similar than you'd want to believe.
It helps me kill GAS and curb spending

Funny how I have the same reaction with Kayzer's videos. He makes everything sound like a metal distortion.
