And I love the movie, watched it several times in different versions. Actually when they released the director's cut (or some other special version) I got to interview Rutger Hauer about it. I can't remember anything about the interview, but that he is a cool guy!

(I also remember loving the book but I only read it once and I can hardly remember it. It's massively different from the movie, isn't it?)

Rutger Hauer is the reason I love that movie so much. He totally nailed that role. "I want more life fucker!"

No movie based on a story by Philip K. Dick has too much in common with the original idea. If I had known the original "Minority Report" years ago, I hadn't liked the movie too much. "Blade Runner" (based on the rather short novel "Do androids dream of electric sheep?") is an exception in the way that the dystopic feeling and PKD's favourite philosophic question "What makes us human?" is present throughout the whole movie. The movie in the "Final Cut" version is the one that Ridley Scott prefers, although there has also been a "Director's Cut" version earlier. I also prefer the "Final Cut" version and I'd recommend to watch this one to those who haven't seen the movie.

And the movie features the best music that Vangelis ever produced. Lots of adorable Yamaha CS-80 tunes! I must admit that I don't like anything else by Vangelis or Yamaha.

I actually liked Minority Report even without knowing the book. Also A Scanner Darkly is supposed to be pretty close?

Yeah, The Final Cut is definitely my preferred cut as well. Great movie, one of my all time favourites along with 2001 and a couple of others.

Looked it up, my interview was definitely for the Final Cut. 2007! 1991 I was still too young to interview Rutger Hauer.

I haven't read or seen "A Scanner Darkly" yet. And UBIK is for sure very cool, but I doubt that we'll see a movie too soon. Several attempts have been made in the past, though.
