I keep reading mixed reviews on the Beats. From what I gather, you have to restrain yourself from cranking the kick volume up so you can actually hear the snare and hats(then adjust master volume, makes sense anyways). Others say you need to use the clap with the snare. I think about grabbing the Beats to compliment/help out my TR-626. The Monotribe's kick layered with the 626= phat punch! I'm still waiting to see how the new Elektron and Roland drum machines pan out.

it costs a buckfitty though. i keep reminding myself of how freaking inexpensive these are for what they are.
i can still hear the snare fine when both it & the kick are both maxed. i'm just very jaded by comparison of tons of other old analog drum machines. it's not like the kick is taking on the 808 & 909. i need to get my damn 606 put back together...

Like I said, mixed reviews! I probably should just get it and enjoy it for what it is.

Hey dudes, my Beats has a problem, the LEDs 9-12 went out.. From what I can tell online, this has happened to other folks and is likely a bad solder joint.
Wouldn't you know that in my excitement when I got it last Christmas i forgot to register for the warranty!
Anyways so, before I fall without a net into some uncharted territory, has anyone of you guys pried this sucker open and familiarized yourself with the circuit?
I got a soldering iron this christmas but have never soldered in my life and don't want to start my career blindly destroying my drum machine
