I bought the Conan record, and I go back to it periodically to see if my tastes have changed, but it's really not doing it for me.

I am super into this list.
Would add:
Pallbearer - Foundations of Burden
Thou - Heathen
EYEHATEGOD - s/t
Lord Mantis - Death Mask
Downfall of Gaia - Aeon Unveils the Thrones of Decay
Those would be some of my favorites for the year.

Re: Favorite Doom Records of 2014
Helms Alee's new album was good, but it didn't stand out to me like Weatherhead & Night Terrors did.
Same thing with Blissfucker. I enjoyed it but there was so much swing and groove on Darker Handcraft, Chris Maggio added so much depth that I felt their new drummer wasn't as... nuanced. Like I said, it's a good album but it feels more like Just Another Straightforward Entombedcore Album

Re: Favorite Doom Records of 2014
Upon further reflection: Headless Eyes is still the top, I think, for doom of 2014 for me. Really like a lot of the usual suspects listed here of course (Yob, Indian, et. al), but I think that's my #1.
I feel like we're all kind of quietly let down by the new Wiz record?
