Yeah all the demos I found sucked. Haha.
Ok, compared to the elements:
It's a jfet overdrive. If you've ever played one they are pretty different to op amp ods like the elements. I wouldn't say more tube like, but that is what the Internet will tell you.
The EQ is far less extreme and less flexible than the Elements.
The EQ is however rad, and very useable.
It can get as transparent as the Elements. Well, almost.
On high gain it is a fuzz. To my ears the Elements is always a distortion. Mini won't chugga chugga, and The Elements won't bong fuzz out.
With the bias down you get a fizzy, lofi decay. The Elements is always hifi. Bias up is hifi though. But who cares, low bias is the best.
Overall, the mini is looser than the Elements.
Mini stacks really well.
Low to medium gain with the bias up there is a fair bit of common ground between the two. The mini does artefacts in the decay and misbiased sounds, the Elements brings the metal.
It is a great complement to The Elements. Depending on how you used it it can either be a good replacement or a wildly different beast. If you were palm muting a lot on The Elements you might want to try something to tighten up the mini and boost the distortion a bit, like a TS or similar.
