Also, update: Infanem compact fay sing won't make it to my list. Totally can't justify the $285 price tag, nor the average/estimated used price. Might as well concider the moog or whetstone in that price range. Which I can't:s
That's before tax. End up being around 175 at Prymaxe.
I can lower the price if you're interested
Yeah, just checked again, looks like you're right, srry.
Thanks for the offer, but I'm in Europe, so the s&h and custom fees would ruin the deal for me:s
I have an old Quantum phaser (like this one but not this one...http://www.thegearpage.net/board/showth ... ght=quasar) and it SLAYS. Also have the big box Grand Orbiter, fantastic sounding as well. Small Stones are great just not much adjustment available...love Blackout stuff but Sibling didn't do it for me.
I can't believe I don't know this but is the story with phaser stages. What is that about. I've never been a big phaser user so I never bothered to learn.

EHX Small Stone. The only one on the least I heard in action irl. I'd go for the older big box version with the TB switching an status led.
YUUUUUUP. That's all you need. I've gone through countless phasers, and I've owned 5 or 6 Small Stones... I keep trading them off hoping for something better (BECAUSE I'M STUPID) and then just coming back.
Get yourself the big box V4 and you'll be set for life. Sure, minimal features, but it's the SOUND that matters, no?

Typo: Least = list.
Anyway, that's pretty much what I've been telling myself while searching for boutique phasers of all sorts...Just like with almost all my other boutique peds, in the end I hardly notice a difference that's really really worth the extra coin, or else I just rarely use all the controls and features to the fullest. I'm pretty much a 'set and forget' type of guy when it comes to modulation. One or two basic setting can easilty get me by. It's not like I want every single riff to wobble or flange or vibe or whatever.
One thing though: How's the volume drop on the V4 Small stone?

The number of stages effects the character of the phase sound. It's like the difference between different kinds of fuzzes.

I wouldn't call it a volume drop so much as just the harmonic sweep can sound quieter... I'm also no good with describing sweeps and harmonics and frequencies. The perceived change in volume is such a small price to pay for the sound of the phaser, which is incomparable.
That makes sense I guess. Worst case scenario I can put it in a loop with a clean boost in front. Modding it shouldn't be too hard either though, if my info is right it's just a matter of swapping two resistors...
