As weird as it sounds, I've only ever trashed one footswitch in 20-some years.

On this early Russian Small Clone that was built with the components suitable for...nothing.

EVERYTHING broke on that thing that was a switch, pot, or input within the first six months.

i usually fight off this monolithic thread, but i wish roland would bring back the RE-201 and 301 in pedal form. with actual tape in there. and as quality of a build as the oldies.

Can't do a tiny tape echo, need the spool so the tape doesn't shred almost instantly.

dude it's technology. someone could find a way to make stronger tape. :p
and it could be a big pedal, just not as big as the old desktop boxes, i'd still love it.

About the only dimensions you could reduce would be the height, and that depends on how much of a fan the motor needs for the tape. So *maybe down to 2U rack, but that'd be hell to clean the heads on.

Keep in mind how little space is actually wasted on the old ones - panel and otherwise, and the transport is what dictates the size as much as anything.

"Stronger" tape than reel stuff doesn't really exist, sorry.

Love my big box but it is what it is.

All the talk of wanting Boss to rerelease the slow-gear reminded me about something I wish existed: a compression/sustainer pedal that acted like an envelope generator. You could set it so you get extremely consistent atmospheric swells, fast pitzaccato-style snappiness, or really anything else you could to with an envelope generator.

It bothers me that such a pedal doesn't exist, because it seems like a really good and obvious use for a compressor and an envelope generator for guitars.

I received Tunnelworm today. It's a unique and wonderful effect, however I really really wish there were an envelope through-zero flanger. That part of LFO cycle near the zero point is the sweetest moment and would be so cool to be able to control it with dynamic of your play.

If yr seriously in the market, drop Tom Dalton a line - he's a super nice guy. Worst he can say is no...

the ss/bs BUZZZ is similar to what you're describing, aside from there being no control for octave intensity. it's loud as hell and has tons of low end though.
:picard: Just sent a mail to Brian! I had a Super Puzzle for a while. It was good, but it didn't have neiher a good amount of low frequencies, nor a scooped mids eq...
Dibs on the flip :hello:
Ordered a Buzz from the blemmy ones in stock! Many many thanks for the suggestion.

Anyways, I've just discovered that another pedal I wish exist really exists! A compact dual mode overdrive + independent boost, with different clipping options and powered at 18v. Just found that the new Fulldrive 3 would cover my needs. :thumb:
You're not a musician, you're a low frequencies generator!
