my buddy andrew runs this cable company, and his cables are the most durable i've come across. he'll do custom lengths for you at a minimal extra cost. i use his cables exclusively and i wouldn't go to anyone else. i may be a bit biased, but they rule and i've never had one crap out on me and i don't know anyone who's had theirs crap out on them either.
I actually had looked at these, but the price is a turn off for me. Mainly because I don't have that kind of cash right now! LOL.
Maybe I'll look into Planet Waves. I have some of these that were cheapies from GC that they sell at the counter. Or that Prymaxe threw in the box (remember they did that for awhile).
I just get annoyed that the fucking Mammoth ones aren't working the way I thought.

lol, fair enough. those planet waves ones will definitely do the trick. i used those for a while and they were *mostly* a good experience.

Does he offer discounts on multiples??? DO know. The only thing is when you use those type of plugs sometimes shit gets tricky in tight areas. I have some like that now, longer cables mostly, and they are great! Probably the best kind on the market IMO, but they just aren't that flexible. I've had one go bad in like 5 years.

Dono has told me he's never broken one of those cheap colorful cables. I use some black little cheapies that I've never broken and I don't use a board, so my pedals slide all over.
The cables that I've had the longest without crapping out on me were cheap Peavey multicolored ones.
Followed very closely by Mammoth's pancakes, although some of those have crapped out on me here and there.
Ancient Astro has made me some Hosa pancakes before and they're like tanks.
The "rock cables by warwick" are what I've been using for years, cause they are like $12 for 6 I think. I've had 2 break on me, which was about 3 months ago...and by break, I mean when I pulled one out, the freakin metal piece stayed inside the jack. This was with an mxr/dunlop pedal though, and those jacks are freaking tight.
Leads that have crapped on me.
Yorkville (constantly and at the worst times)
Planet waves
Fender
Some generic chinese brand at tom lee x2
yorkville
alesis
Fucking yorkville fuck
The only ones that havent crapped out were a third generic chinese brand at tom lee that was super cheap.
Like 50cents/foot
My frustration is that pancakes are to wide for using a bunch of stereo pedals in stereo. Need to make more patches, and find something nearly as convenient.

I just take em apart and re solder them. Most of the ones that failed were obviously not made with pride. Sloppy solder job and it has a short lifespan. Once they are re done they seem to last pretty well. I think I only had one that I've been through that failed and that was my own fault.

This... Make your own if you are comfortable soldering. Buy good quality pancake plugs and some Mogami cable. Also good quality solder is essential. Never use that environmentally friendly crap. Makes a horrible connections that are gonna fuck up real fast, usually at the wrong time too. At least when you make your own you can make them at the right length. Gives your board a neater look as well as takes the shortest path of least resistance.
