I think that's an HD130 or HD150. It may also be the bass version of the 65 (no reverb) in the shorter housing. IIRC, they are based on a silver face Twin, but have a solid state preamp.

Just google'd all the pics I could find of both the HD130/150 and the sixty-five heads. There's too little difference to be sure which one is in those grainy little pics:(

indeed. i use a music man seventy-five with a 2x12 bassman cab for guitar. these amps have a deep switch on one channel that really fill in the bottom. they have ss pres.

If the info I found online is correct, they actually came in a bass version as well as a guitar version. I can imagine the bass version should work fine on guitar too though, especially with a little tweaking, like you said...
They've been around for quite some time I think. A buddy of mine turned me on to them, cause we're both into sleeping people and lite, as well as heavier instrumental bands.
I know the guitar tone isn't anything exceptional or unique, nothing you couldn't pull off with another decent amp instead. I was just curious, cause those old music man amps always seem to go surprisingly cheap online.
