I like earlier Witchcraft but that new stuff of the new backing band is shit.
Anyway two pages in and no one has mentioned Slomatics? For shame. Also worth checking Grimpin Mire, Headless Kross and Coltsblood.

For older style doom with clean vocals Dread Sovereign are worth a listen:

One week I saw them 3 times at 3 different shows and the sets couldn't be more far apart. First set was with Krallice and they played some slow black metal with some sludge, then a house show where they played a single 45 minute long song that was the definition of epic, and then the last set was pure sludgy doom and ended with a 12 minute Sleep cover. Holy shit those were the days
I hate you.

Stop trying to convince me I need to move down there!!!!!! I live two hours north and the music scene fucking blows..... yet they have sooooo many awesome fukkin bands: Cough, Windhand, Inter Arma..... GAH

Best four years of my life in terms of music, holy shit. But Windhand and Inter Arma are always on the road now, so not nearly as many ragers as before with those two

But hey, you have your pick of usually around 2-3 shows each night through the week to go to. I really wonder how I didn't go broke down there with the amount of shows I went to

That would be nice, but I can hardly get out to see a show once every two months now a days, three a week would be impossible.
hahahaha because their usually dirt cheap! They don't have to charge as much because they know a ton of people will show up which is the opposite of DC where they charge an arm and a leg because nobody will show up.

Yeah. That's what I love about it down there. Going to a show up here is like wut? $13 a person? The hell is that.
And I feel you man. I haven't been to a show in like at least a month or two, at least, if not more

We should really do an exhaustive regional doom expose thread--I'm noticing that a lot of our rec's seem, naturally, to be coming from our local-ish scenes.

Word to this, there were a few okay tracks on that new album but over what a freakin' letdown. The first three are incredible, what a great band they were. But it's time to put this horse out to stud....
That Inter Arma track was pretty good, not checked them out before..... Very Times of Grace ish, which is hard to pull off well. Stupid me for reading the metal-archives reviews, 'twas suggested for fans of " Opeth, Enslaved, Darkthrone and Meshuggah" dude what the fuck are you talking about..... Anyone that writes reviews for M-A should be tossed into a mass grave......

That Witch band is fucking terrible.... They played here a few years back and most of the audience walked out.....

Based out of Brattleboro, too.
Gonna earmark that Inter Arma song 'til after I've hit my deadlines--I know they get nothing but love around here.
