Man, I can't imagine how frustrating that is. Once it's cleared up, totally snagging a copy. :thumb:
Corey Y wrote:Wrote a song today, just to do something while my wife was out running errands. Guitars are my Carvin Bolt Plus tuned to B through Dunwich Wizard Fuzz on one track, Cthulhu Fuzz on the other, both into my Carvin X100B head through a Celestion 65 loaded 2x12. Bass is my Fender Precision through a Joyo Ultimate Drive into my GK MB800 and Eminence Basslite loaded DIY 1x10. Really minimal mixing, just banged everything out as quick as possible. I've been looking at a lot of gear online lately and not doing a lot of music playing, so I figured I should get my ass in gear and just write a complete song. Still planning on working out some vocals and recording them too.

X100B is an insanely underrated amp. The singer/other guitarist in Khemmis has one, and it rules SO hard. I'm gonna grab one at some point.
KHEMMIS. Doomed heavy metal. DECEIVER out 11/19/21 on Nuclear Blast.

GLACIAL TOMB. Misanthropic death/black/sludge. S/t debut out now on Gilead Media.

Good deals with: Ancient Astronaught, conky, crohny, D-Day, Corey Y, ryan summit, tons more here and on HCFX under this username

I got mine so cheap and I see them cheap all over the place on a regular basis. Great amps, super versatile in a lot of different ways. I tend to use the non master volume rhythm channel with pedals, but the lead channels are pretty sweet. The fact that it has power scaling (25/50/100w) is a huge bonus too. I've used mine for recording other people quite a bit and I've been able to coax a lot of different sounds from it, especially with pedals in the mix. That's why I keep it at home with my 2x12 for recording demos real quick, I can use it for just about any tone in a pinch (or close enough for what's needed). That and my Peavey VTM120 are both amps that I feel like I can't ever justify selling. I got them both so cheap, it's worth more to keep them. Although since I got the Carvin, I hardly ever need to Peavey anymore. Still, it's there if I want more power, it nails a Marshall tone really easily and it's got a slave in for the power amp too. I like my vintage and boutique stuff too, but my great cheap pieces of gear have a special place in my heart.

If I could get my hands on the X100 (no "B"), I would buy it in a second. Same thing, but no graphic EQ, which I almost never use. I saw one on CL before, totally mint and super cheap, but the owner never emailed me back.

I just listened to mine and it is pretty bad. Wondering if Brutal Panda messed up the press and will make it right.
I emailed them and they said that there was nothing with the records and that they were sped up 5 bpm so that they would fit at 45rpm. When I asked why they didn't just run it at 33 and leave the songs the same tempo and why my record has no low end they didn't reply. I waited a few days and asked what they were gonna do about my shitty sounding record and they never replied again. I know what label I won't be buying anymore merch from from now on. Fuck those guys right up their asses with a jackhammer.
you've got to be fucking kidding? what kind of shit is that? i can't believe a band would let that slide. what's so important about having it at 45 anyway? and guess what happens when you try and cram too much music onto vinyl? it sounds like shit. i would just be so pissed, as a band, as a fan, whatever. this actually makes me lose some respect for the label for sure.
We had no idea this was happening until the records were mailed to us.

When I confronted them about it, they said that I didn't know what I was talking about.

Unreal.

Thanks & props to you and the Whores guys for going to bat for this. I cannot imagine how infuriating this is. It's a killer album and I really want the opportunity to have my physical copy that I can plop on and not feel... weird.

Also holy shit they really told you "you don't know what you're talking about?" Fuck them.

They were like, "Are you sure you have it on the right speed?"

First of all, fuck them for underestimating my intelligence. I have a better record collection than either Mike or Bob in the first place, and I know how to use a fucking record player. I've heard those songs a billion times. I know what they are supposed to sound like.
Secondly, if I WAS dumb enough to have it on 33 instead of 45, it would be playing slower, not faster, brainiac.
Thirdly, fuck them.
Fourth, I'm so fucking mad.

I cannot stress enough how important it is to email the label and tell them about this. It would really help us out a lot.

They are seriously trying to minimize the damage. It's just gross to me, and it makes me feel terrible about what is essentially the most important thing in my life.

I just sent in an email.

I'm sorry to hear you have to deal with that shit dude. It is kinda hilarious that the label was asking if you were listening at the right speed. They are your songs, you should know what they sound like, you fucking wrote them. It is also a downer because you would think that small labels would want to put out the music as the artist wants them. I can see this shit happening for a large label that doesn't really care too much about the artist except as a way for making more money, but you figure a smaller label would care about their product quality more.

Again sorry that you have to deal with this shit. I hope everything gets better from here. Sucks that it is Brutal Panda too. They seemed like a cool bunch. I got their subscription thing where they send out a vinyl split with two of their bands every now and then. Makes you rethink trusting them and giving them your money.

Christian, It isn't your fault and I can't take a record from you to fix their fuckup. It's just the principle of things and I appreciate that you'd even offer to try to fix their mess. They did finally email me back saying they'd send me another record once they are repressed so it's taken care of. I just don't see how they can be so easy going about this though. Either way man, I listen to the digital download all the time and it fucking rips. I even like it more than Ruiner which is an amazing fucking album. I'm just ready to be able to have those tunes sound the same when I put a record on in my living room and lounge on the couch. Whores still has my support all the way. Don't let the man get ya down!

Never knew they had power scaling. There is a half stack that shows up on craigslist here for dirt cheap. I may have to check it out next time I see it pop up.

Done and done. To me it's less about getting a new record and more about them knowing how their poor decision making fucks with an otherwise outstanding album. I still kind of grin like an idiot every time I hear Cougars Not Kittens and think about Dixie's stupid ass improve growling with yall.

In other news, my fam needed a Christmas idea for me, so thanks to that 20% off, looks like I'll have a Zap Machine under the tree this year  I'm hoping it can take the place of the Dirt Transmitter and maybe even the Mini (even though I love it to pieces so far).

I keep telling them it's more about the message it sends that they don't care (or at least that's how it comes off).

Anyone interested in a size L Church Of Misery tour shirt? I'm too fat, still brand new, just picked it up this past Tuesday for $20 (from the band). Figured I can mention it if anyone that was planning on going to a show missed the chance to catch them. Let me know.
