awesome I'll check out all that stuff. I love me some MMOB and Comets! always on the hunt for new tunes.

and the amazing FX Dr. hooked me up on the mods, and several others. he is awesome. :thumb:
the BSM is totally crazy and need to put it to more use soon.

and finally think I'm getting closer on this fuzz quest. loving that the FM-2 is disgusting and seems to offer some real variety for my setup right now to offset the heavies. and haven't toyed around with the stang as much yet and think it might be able to cop some maestro 1A/1S tones and fuzzrite stuff, but not sure on that... but do love that old satisfaction zip buzz sound which was a 1A I think. the orpheum seems awesome too but again wonder if the stang can do that? and bee baa seems to be more refined buzz though very rockin'. might be able to set my rat clone to do this for now? so I'm pretty close to pulling the trigger on this FM-2. getting. closer. :snax:

ok loving this tone

the FM-2 is way ruder and trashier, but I wonder if this with my BSM and another boost or fuzz will get in that territory since it's superfuzz-like.
so. close.
and wonder if I should just get this type of pedal with the fuzztone 1/2 toggle on a footswitch and call it good.

you know i love the fz-1s, but having a stomp switch to toggle between the two fuzz tones is reaallllly nice. i'm diggin that about the beebaa. the ace tone fm-2 also uses one stomp for between the fuzz tones. i wonder if there's a fz-1s clone with set up as such? that would be the tits.

the guy at ace tone went on to start roland. i think the ace tone fm-2 could be considered the design the beebaa was based on. and the ace tone is more of an octave fuzz to compete with the superfuzz....i'm really starting to gas on the ace tone. i like octave pedals.

smitty just got back to that he can do fuzz tones 1/2 on a footswitch! :!!!:

so with that in mind and I do love octave fuzzi too, but why I got the BSM to have more control. or so I thought. :?:
you think the FZ-1S could be an all-rounder to cop the FZ-1 and FM-2 type of tones with the BSM?
the bee baa is probably a different beast entirely, which I like. the fuzz stang just might be too over the top?

That's sweet :thumb:

well i've been digging through effectsdatabase and elsewhere trying to learn more about the fm-2, and the fm-2 was a different circuit than the models to follow. it came out in the late 60s before? the bigmuff? there was a fm-3 model too that i assume followed, and i read that was based around the big muff circuit. with the fm-2 you have one stomp for the fuzz tone, then another stomp for 2 more tones. i thought it was an octave fuzz for some reason, must have been that video they just had the fuzz raging hard on the second tone stomp.

I think you could cover alot of ground with the fz-1s, thats what makes it a favorite of mine. in 2 mode it's rather similar to the fz-1a i have only much larger/thicker sounding. even with the sustain all the way down there is still a bit of a harmonically rich center that the beezzzzz are raging from. with your BMS i bet you could filter for a more aggressive sound, don't know if you can capture that gated sound of the fz-1a though. i guess that's part of its charm.

hell yeah, I think you nailed it. can't get it all. the fz-1s with footswitchable fuzz tones it is then.
and have to spend some time with the fuzz stang, it can gate like a 'mutha while still sounding huge. so these two monsters together and watch out.
add in some b.s.m. action and meltage will ensue. keep in mind this will be mixed in with these brutes > supercollider, pharaoh, blue box, iron pig rat...

also what do you think they used on this?

tonebenders were based on the maestro fz-1 as far as i know. and also maybe big muff too or fuzzface. i was able to demo some clones around the years, not sure what versions they were of. always sounded really good but i was never compelled to buy one or try and find the real thing.

cool. and I need to decide if the fuzz stang is staying. it's pretty gnarly. think once I get the FZ1S I'll know what is what with my setup and where to go from there.
