Re: Has Mooer gone to self-parody?
I appreciate the support. The truth is that a little guy like me going after a bigger company with deeper pockets = giving a bunch of money I don't have to lawyers for little to nothing in return. And their aesthetic is different enough from mine to justify proper differentiation in the market. Trademark laws are designed to protect consumers from confusion, NOT to allow companies to prevent other companies from doing something similar (that's what patents are for, and none of these things are patentable because they don't involve a true "invention" so to speak). When you see one of their pedals, it's pretty obviously a Mooer compared to my more utilitarian, solid-colored, smaller cubes.Chankgeez wrote:... but they're ripping off your entire aesthetic.
In reality, when a bigger company spends money to engage in a proper marketing campaign to showcase this idea of "smaller can be better," it benefits smaller operations like mine. They pay to shift the mindset, and I sell product without spending a dime on marketing. My sales have been steadily climbing. No complaints here. Advertise on, Mooer!

but then again i'm lazy and all, etc etc, but i think that applies to most people who aren't really looking. you could've posted the mooers on your website or someone could've posted your shit next to the mooers on the front page and i'd just think it was a different angle.
edited 2 seconds later:
i just looked at them next to each other, the mooers look like small washing machines. i get it now, they're different.
Even so, if having something in a similar box were grounds for a law suit, MXR could have wiped out a huge part of the boutique market years ago.

I saw these about a year ago. I'm keen for one. They seem to have a really rad chorus one.
would be great to have sitting on the back corner of a small board to use when you felt like it.

I love how they registered TWA... douches...
But hey, if Trans World Airlines isn't using it...
Still, how so very original
