I've had a zillion fuzzes and usually have a bright set up also... none of them were what i'd call 'warm' until I went with a closed back cabinet... then shit got straight up humid.monkeydancer wrote:Interesting, I love the Algal Bloom but to me it doesn't sound warm at all. Could just be my general setup geared towards sounding bright though.

When I think warm, I usually think Superfuzz.
That's a Fu Manchu thing, though.

The Superfuzz is the last pedal on earth I'd call warm.D.o.S. wrote:When I think warm, I usually think Superfuzz.

Those fucking washers are a joke. They barely even do anything. They almost totally ruin the aesthetics of some pedals.Jero wrote:^It might seem silly to some, but I really with they wouldn't use those dc jacks that stick out like that...at least they don't keep those fugly white washers on the stomps.

They absorb shock and also prevent you from scratching the crap out of the pedal's paint when installing the switch.AngryGoldfish wrote:The Superfuzz is the last pedal on earth I'd call warm.D.o.S. wrote:When I think warm, I usually think Superfuzz.

That said, I also prefer the look of the metal washers and use the switches which come with those when possible. Sadly those switches are not always available

I didn't know they absorbed shock. I thought they just prevented the finish from being scratched. That makes more sense. Still ugly though.V_____ wrote:They absorb shock and also prevent you from scratching the crap out of the pedal's paint when installing the switch.

They must be doing something different with it, like boosting an already heavily overdriven amp.D.o.S. wrote:I know, right?
