Re: Jaguar Neck
Leave the neck and pickguard, get a Mastery and Novaks and maybe redo all the wiring at the same time.

Re: Jaguar Neck
I've never owned any MIJ Fenders, but from what I've heard the electronics are typically not as good as U.S., so changing the pickups, pots, switches, etc. may be helpful. But I could also be totally wrong on that. If you like how it sounds, leave it stock.
I'm not sure I've ever seen an antigua guitar with a non-antigua pickguard. What are you thinking for a replacement guardÉ

My question is:
Is there a big difference between CIJ and US necks??
Does replacing the acutal CIJ one by a US one make sense???
1) big? probably not. Noticeable? Yes. USA necks are thicker / chunkier but usually are more refined and finished nicely, CIJ necks are usually thinner with a glossier clear coat, so they seem to play faster then american necks but can also feel like toys in comparison.
2) After reading your posts, No. It would be a huge change from what your used to, and if you love the neck you have don't change it.
I'm gonna have to echo other peoples sentiments here and say with all these changes your probably better off just looking for a used USA Jag and buying it outright. You'll be spending the same amount on modding your current guitar.
As far as the electronics of the CIJ offsets, its really just the pickups that need to be changed. The wiring / pots / jacks are fine, but the pickups are "vintage spec" which to them means "60's garage band tone", i.e; thin sounding, low output, and generally just sound like poo. (not that those sounds can't be used effectively, but in general most people find those kinds of base tones hard to work with unless chasing a certain tone)

IDK (

I get this jag in a trade, a very very very good trade...I always wanted a jag, but I wasn't ready to have one with an antigua finish.
I'm in a love/hate relationship with this finish, cause face it, it's weird, odd, kind of ugly too, but it's also magical, uncomon and rad...
Due to this broken pickguard I decided to attenuate the Antigua effect by buying something else...maybe red pearl, orange pearl, mint green, or some samish green...or a black one, but I'm not sure for black. I even thought of a brown tortoise...
Maybe you've got some brilliant ideas??
But it's like my od/fuzz quest, it changes everyday couple of days

I wanted to change the neck to have the best jaguar I may possibly have (with a matching pickguard headstock) and keep the money for the other guitars I want...and there is a lot!!!
But your help has been really helpful, I'll change the pups, the bridge and the PG, and then I'll buy a JM

Re: Jaguar Neck
It's kind of an irrelevant comparison given that the scale lengths are completely different (and it's Japanese vs. Mexican), but I like the neck on my CIJ Jaguar Bottom Master way better than I liked the neck on the MIM CP Jaguar that I had last year. The CIJ neck is a bit slimmer and has a smoother finish than the MIM one did. Much more comfortable to play for me. I bet it's a bit wider in the fingerboard too to accommodate the Bass VI tuning and string spacing. The fit and finish on the CIJ seems superior to me. Have never played an American Jag though.
