Jaguar Neck
I'm sorry if there is the same topic somewhere but I can't find something similar...
So,
I have a 02-04 CIJ Antigua Jaguar and I want to upgrade it.
I have thoughts about everything (Mastery Bridge, Curtis Novak's pups, a new pickguard which is not Antigua...) but the neck is questionning me.
I'm actually in love with that neck, I don't know why, but I feel more than comfortable.
My question is:
Is there a big difference between CIJ and US necks??
Does replacing the acutal CIJ one by a US one make sense???

Re: Jaguar Neck
If you love the neck, why do you want to replace it? Not sure I understand what you're trying to do.

Re: Jaguar Neck
I love the neck,
I don't want to replace it,
I'm asking IF I'll replace it one day,
As I don't know the feel of a US one, my question is about the difference between them, if I might love it more because USs are supposed to kick CIJs asses...
Do you understand what I'm trying to do now??
I'm just fishing intels, I know I don't have to replace a neck I love

Just get an aluminum neck one that one calls it a day and then you'll be set for the rest of your life with it

That's probably the stupidest sentence I've ever written.
But YES. ALUMINUM. EVERYTHING.

Re: Jaguar Neck
Out of curiosity, where would I find an aluminum neck and how much do they cost?

Re: Jaguar Neck
Depends on what you want honestly. You can sometimes find old Kramer bolt-on necks on Ebay from time to time in various shape for anywhere from $150-400.
Other than that you could send it to Electrical Guitar Company to make an aluminum neck to your specs and install it on the guitar- either straight up bolt on, or neck through body. They have their various costs- I've heard anywhere from $800-1100

Re: Jaguar Neck
If you're going to spend the money doing all that, wouldn't it make more sense to buy another guitar?
You're probably looking at 1000+ in parts here. Keep the current one, and just buy another guitar.
You get two guitars, and both of which will hold their value more if you ever decide to sell.

Re: Jaguar Neck
Yeah, it was inherently my question.
If there is such a difference, should I sell this guitar and get a US one?
Or if there is not such a difference, should I keep it and do mods (minus the neck)...

My answers:
IDK.
No.
Reasoning: see bolded statement.
By messing with that level of comfort you will almost surely be chasing a dragon.
Keep it. Get another guitar. Changing necks changes everything.

Re: Jaguar Neck
I agree with the guys saying don't change the neck. Anyway, it's my understanding that CIJ Fenders are well made, and I don't think changing the neck to a USA made one would be an upgrade.
