I... think I've finally gotten over vintage fender gas.

Which is awesome, 'cause there are a whole bunch of old valve amps that I haven't been able to lay my hands on yet. Gotta allocate lust accordingly.

While there are certain individual Fenders I'd consider, I've never been a raging Fender fanboi in general. And 13.5K is a LOT of money just for vintage mojo (which doesn't really interest me all that much)...for that kind of cash, I could most likely get the Ric, Stingray H and Ovation Magnum that comprise my bass-GAS list and still have change left over for a Trace or Traynor tube head.

Main reason I showed that one up there is that It looks to be in very good shape for its age.

Why a Trace head?

I have a SS one now ('94 GP7SM 130) which I love and plan to keep forever...adding a tubed Trace would be heaven. I'd also consider a tubed Traynor, since they have similar tone possibilities.

So Trace heads sound like Traynors?

I only ask because I've never had more than ten minutes with one, and it was a combo at a guitar shop that I was abusing with delay pedals (you know how it is...). I'm drawing a blank when I squint my eyes and try to think of "the trace sound".

Think British bassist's tones...Entwistle, some JPJ, Squire, etc...a lot of Geddy's tones are there as well. Lots of growl from mids and treble emphasis (thus, my GAS for a Ric and Magnum).

From what I've heard in clips, etc of a Traynor head (never actually played thru one myself...yet), they can pull similar/complementary tones to a Trace head, depending on how they're EQ'd and stuff.

I have a Trace Elliot V4. 220 tube watts that is far, far louder than some 900 pussywatt heads I've played. It almost killed me once (literally). Electric shock up the right arm, through my chest, out the left arm. Pretty cool that I didn't die really, that was just from touching the standby switch. It is currently awaiting repair, sitting in my music room collecting dust. Best sounding amp I've ever owned... tricksy bastard.

okay. i dunno about carnivore stuff 'cause i haven't had meat in so long it either looks a little gross or just.... i dunno..... excessive... but they had a butt load of Hobbit themed food. i don't know if I'D want to jam something in my called Frodo's Hobbit Hole..... but the Cave Snack Surprise (fuck off if that's not totally right. it was LATE. i was TIRED.) was fucking delicious. lemon poppy seed chunks of french toast. HAWT.

sometimes shitty greasy food is just perfect. avocado and mushroom omelet burrito with seasoned curly fries to dip into ranch. yesh please.
