Haha totally, I hate wahs! I blame wahs for killing so many good songs through the years... wah plus guitar solo is a deadly combination that people need to stop.
I can't see myself ever making a compressor, 'twouldn't be any fun for me as that's a pedal I'd never use. Or I'd only use as a sound effect, like for swells or weird sustain.. I'd make a sound effect compressor but not a normal one.
I like the idea of an expended Elements with noise gate and cab sim, that would be cool... impossible to fit into the current size box while still being a through-hole build but maybe one day I'll change the Elements to smd and deck it out further.

What exactly do you mean by sound effect comp? Like literally a box of glitched out sounds that you could select??

My take on "sound effect comp" - it's how I use my compressor. I've got it set for ridiculous compression, and I use it with a swell pedal (Guyatone SV-2 and Guyatone ST-2) to make synthy, sustainy swells. Like an EHX Freeze without the DSP

may be you may try stacking PCBs just like other mass produced pedals(AMT does it) but I guess its impossible or very challenging to build due to the size of components of hand built ones. i guess i just like normal size pedals with lots for tweakable functions(knobs switches etc)Ryan wrote:Haha totally, I hate wahs! what are your future projects by the way Ryan? or what do you have in mind in building as your next pedal?

I just mean that I wouldn't make a normal compressor, I'd make something that was much more effecty... like swells and unnatural sustain and gating... it wouldn't be a compressor in the traditional sense, it would alter your dynamics in an extreme way which I think would be much more fun. Generally speaking, in my opinion, a compressor is a tool that you aren't really supposed to notice when its doing its job well... but that's too boring of a guitar pedal for me to make. I'd want you to notice it bigtime.

Yeah I'm not really too interested in making the Elements any tougher to build, plus to even add one more knob would require totally changing its front panel layout.. I think it's gonna stay like it is in its present form for awhile, I think it's tweakable enough.
I think I'll spend the rest of the year doing some house-keeping stuff... need a new Tremolessence layout soon and might prototype a stereo RRR... then in the new year I'll get cracking on a delay pedal of some kind...

Max, you gotta get yourself a little stereo amp! Do your ears a favour! *smile*
The reverb engine in the RRR is actually a stereo processor and all the patches were designed with stereo in mind... but I've never tried it out like that... but I will one day...

Re: Ryan, have you ever thought about....
I keep it pretty simple... one amp here, one amp there, and voila, a huge stereo sound-field that fills my tiny workspace.

yes

Ryan, regarding stereo configs do you mix different sounds (clean/dirty) or same/close sound for both amps?

Re: Ryan, have you ever thought about....
I just do same sounds for both amps... I set them both totally clean, a little reverb, and then just pedals.. how do you do it? What amps do you use? I mainly use my Triple Rec and my Blues Jr... kind of a weird pair but that's what I've got and they sound cool individually and together.

What are the odds of a fully wet fast tracking reverse setting on the new delay.... haha
