Analog is Analog and they can sound all the same or all different... Don't think Vintage = Old Sounds or vice versa...

I can do Pink Floyd on a Minibrute as easily as I can do Dead Mou5e/Skrillex with a Juno...

No, you're totally right. I should have worded it better. Maybe it's not the same, but in the realm of fuzz, circuit A can pull of a certain sound better/easier than circuit B, and circuit B can create sounds that circuit C could never do, and circuit D is really only good for one specific sound. That's more of what I meant. There are guys here, myself included, that are drawn more to vintage style fuzz (Muffs, Fuzz Faces, Benders, etc), and other guys who are more interested in new takes on the fuzz genre (TAFM, Frazz, Fuzzhugger, Fairfield, etc). That doesn't mean they can't make their TAFM sound like a Muff. I hope that makes more sense.

Yeah I got cha, but just like in the Fuzz world there are a whole bunch of people making "versions" of the old stuff that's been around and still sounds as good now as when it was new... Everybody is making a Moog Filter or a MS20 Filter or Roland Saw or Oberhiem Pulse... Don't get caught up in the hype and just get what you like cause it's all about the same, it's what YOU do with it...

Much truth has been said.

Well hey if you're looking to get into modular, this looks like a great deal and hassle-free way to make yourself broke.

Pittsburgh Modular Foundation, it's going for 1.7k if I recall correctly, which is pretty awesome considering it's all self-contained and ready to go, plus once your bank account recovers you can start swapping stuff out. It comes in a really solid Monorocket case too so that should last you quite a while. Hell I want one. :S

Dude, I checked out some demos and that thing sound pretty good. I think I might wait a bit to go modular, but if/when the time comes I'm going to strongly consider that option. You're right about it seeming like an easy entry point to that world. I definitely would want to start with the Eurorack format.

Well I spent part of the weekend going through my gear and thinking about what I need compared to what I just like having around, and I think I am ready to move forward and list some stuff FS to see what kind of funds I can come up with. Probably going to be a few pedals in there that I told myself I would never sell. I'll keep you guys in the loop if you're the least bit interested.

I may have just had an epiphany while in the shower (where I do all my best thinking). The only reason I wanted to go with the Leipzig-SK over just the "S" model is because it has the built in keyboard. Now I was thinking why not go with the Leipzig-S (for $1200 instead of $2000), and with the leftover money try to pick up a used Moog Little Phatty with keyboard. Is there any flaws to that logic? Seems like a good way to get more bang for your buck.

That kraftzwerg looks like a nice little piece of kit for the price. How does it stack up? Is it something you still have?

Also, do you have a pic of your rig? I would love to drool over check out what your are working with. :animal:
