I've been able to get some pretty thick sounds out of it. They all still have that steel-and-mortar flavor, but that's kinda the nature of the beast. I'll do a quick and dirty run-through of some of the thicker sounds I've made with it and post a link here latter today.

True. I think with the Tetra you'd want to use the computer editor for sound design and assign the 4 encoders to whatever you want to tweak in each patch. Kinda like a Nord Micro Modular.

Here're some of my favorite settings, I programmed all these because I've hated all the presets. I probably should've included the one I call faptain kirk...oh well.

Re: Tiny synth recommendations?
nurp. just found some pretty extensive YT vids on the preset pad stuff. sounds like it's pretty much exactly what i'm looking for. WOOT.
now i'm trying to decide if an octave and a half floor keyboard makes more sense. i think it does. i'm so used to thinking of B as the lowest root note that probably would be better to have two B's to work with.

^ I saw that too but I put the Blofeld in the cart and typed in the code and it took the $100 off.
If for some reason it doesn't work, you just call them and tell them you want the discount
and they'll give it to you anyway. I think it has something to do with they can't advertise
the discounts for those brands but they can still give it to you if you ask.

I left out my pad settings on purpose because I remember when I was trying to decide on whether or not to get this synth it seemed like it was impossible to find people demoing sounds that weren't pads. I remember I was a little worried when I got it that it would only be able to do good pads and nothing else. And pads are way easy to do with this, as are organ sounds for some reason
