I kinda like that Offset Special and I'm not even really a Strat fan.

I think it's just you. Looks to be totally different body construction. About the only thing they've got in common is they're both Fenders and they've got an F-hole.

The pickups on the Offset Special look like Jazzmaster pickups, but are described as P90s. I wonder which they'll be...

I don't really know how these will continue to exist (thinlines excepted) when the offset Squiers come out.

I wasn't so much talking about construction - more of the general vibe of the guitar. Obviously, they're totally different in the sense of construction, but the sort of oddball, offset hollow body vibe is there.

No, not the vibe either. I knew what you meant. Starcasters've a very Gibson vibe to 'em. This one doesn't scream Fender trying to do Gibson to me.
