Which started out kinda like this:

Having seen some of Elwood's custom finishes in other threads I found myself a bit curious about getting one for myself. The conversation started around the idea of a Detroit-themed blackguard Tele (with a P90 in the neck) that looked like it had been left behind a machine or a furnace in a factory for the last 30 years. (I'm from Michigan. Industry sorta speaks to me...) And this is where we ended up. I gotta say, this thing blows the doors off of my initial vision and expectation. The Kalamazoo elements (set neck, neck profile, inlays, controls layout) combined with the Fullerton elements (bridge pickup, body shape) give it a really wonderful feel and sound. The bridge pickup is all Tele twang and bite, and that neck P90 (a GFS maybe???) brings more wool than your Granny's knitting circle. Seriously so g'damn thick!!! Kind of unreal actually. And then that weirdo Mosrite'ish German carve and Elwood's blowtorch, rust, gold leaf and decoupage are just a post-nuclear icing on this delicious cake.
Really, really happy with this. Thanks Elwood!
