Re: dang i need help - RRR or Wet
only one way to go: get both.
RRR is more of an emulation type of deal and sounds beautiful at that.
WET is more of a cavern, and sounds great too.
one run into the other is pure reverbial bliss.

yes, this is something i had in mind, but couldn't describe like that. both reverbs probably rock the s'*## out of allicio's arse, no doubt.
(btw i like your signature "Our central purpose is the construction of situations, that is, the concrete construction of temporary settings of life and their transformation into a higher, passionate nature. - Guy Debord")
i personally want to do some ambient stuff, or shoegaze-postrock, to really utilize the only reverb i got. at first i'd think, that the wet sounds better for that
reason - sigur ros record in real caverns, but in other boards, people say, that the RRR is a great shoegaze reverb. (some say, to get the best shoegaze sound, do a chain: RRR - Boss-RV3 - RRR :/?).
but don't worry - i will go for the RRR!
f**k the doubts - certainly you can do same great ambient stuff with the RRR too and even a lot more (my boss cs2 compressor/sustainer and eq +.. hopefully fulfill their role in creating a sound, that can get somewhere close the wet or better
)
@ryan:
finally the store gave me the refund yesterday and now that is out of my head. i don't want to disparage the shop owners, because i am not sure, if everybody who had placed an international order had that problems with them (cory and steve ;D, blame you). after all, they'd been gentile, but always seemed to be in a hurry and communication was not always easy. in the end i got my money back and i learned a lesson.
what happened: they sent the rrr, international, but just with usps priority mail, and these shipments are not trackable outside the US. the RRR never arrived, they put me off from week to week, because they'd never lost a shipping. i waited even longer, then i moved to another city. after 3 months I asked them to send me a new one, but all RRR's had been out of stock at that time (around christmas i think). then they got new ones and they offered to send me another one, and that the last one was probably sent back to them. unfortunately i allowed them to send me another one instead of getting a refund instantly. so they tried to send me another RRR again - but as i feared - again as priority mail, although i begged them to send it as registered or express mail like other shops do (analoguehaven: shipping : we are currently shipping all domestic orders UPS and international orders vis USPS Global Express Mail. this gives us the ability to track and insure your shipment which is most important to the both of us.), so it wasn't trackable again and i waited again for more than a month. (usually i get a notification from the customs after max. 10 days to pick up the shipment). in the end it's been 7 months.
me nor they can tell what went wrong, but i cannot deny that my case was obviously extraordinary and probably not general procedure.
uh, so it'd be awesome, if I could order a RRR from you directly, and so i got the refund now, you don't need to worry about the money
wow that was long, now @

I love the rrr. its so versatile from a nice subtle touch to making my room sound much bigger than it is. it certainly does ROCK the proverbial!! You'll be well pleased!.
Another point that doesn't get mentioned much but i think is fantastic is that Ryan offers a lifetime warranty on all his pedals! Im sure the wet only has 1 year. To me it shows the confidence Ryan has in his products!!

Re: dang i need help - RRR or Wet
I like how Dave Lister talks, that's a cool British accent! (they're all cool, you guys talk awesome)
Thanks for the RRR compliments guys, I appreciate it! And yeah, I do lifetime warranties on my pedals and I don't care if you're the original owner or the 100th. (The naked Frazz gets around like that.)
Lee, I'm really sorry to hear about your shipping nightmare, I know exactly how awful that is and so do other guys here.. it sucks! International shipping, outside of the US and Canada, is a really big pain in the butt. There's only two reasonable ways to ship a package to Europe, one is called International Small Packet Air Mail and the other is Xpress Post. (This is for Canada Post but the USPS has the same options with slightly different names)
Small Packet mail is about $15 to $20 for a single pedal and has a service standard of 6 to 10 business days with no tracking at all. The problem is it usually takes longer than this, like 6 weeks longer, and the post office can't tell you or me anything about it. They won't even open a claim on the package until it's been gone for 45 days. And the maximum insurance is only 100 bucks.
Xpress Post is about $60 to $80 for a single pedal and has a service standard of about 5 business days with proper tracking and up to $1000 insurance. It's great, it's reliable, I love it, nobody ever wants to use it.
And that's it, you can use UPS or FedEx but the cost will be even higher than Xpress Post plus they'll hit you with a massive brokerage/customs fee.
So it's a tough situation for anybody shipping internationally.. it's either really expensive or really risky and I've been burned by that cheap shipping about a dozen times. Even Adam up above here suffered about a 2 month wait for his Tremolessence, maybe even longer, because I shipped with Small Packet mail. (thank you again and sorry again)
Nobody wants to pay for expensive shipping but a store can't eat that cost, it would be their whole profit margin on the pedal gone. There isn't really a great solution here for either party except a lot of patience.. and I mean a lot a lot, like months... or an expensive shipping rate.
Lee, if you ever want to try a mini you can come direct to me and we'll make a plan. I can usually be talked into splitting the expensive shipping. *smile* Although I gotta say, two lost shipments... do you live somewhere crazy? Are you in Antarctica or maybe inside the hollow earth or out in the ocean on a barge like Waterworld?

Re: dang i need help - RRR or Wet
hey,

na kidding, @germany - not far away of the frankfurt airport-> biggest european hub for international traffic - i never experienced any delays
apart of calling multiple customstations including the big customs in frankfurt and the post, i told the shop guys to give usps the order to investigate the absence of the shipment, but somehow they didn't bother.
and yeah, can you tell me how much shipping'd be from canada? (i could maybe pay all the shipping costs, but you could do me a favor, sending the pedal as a gift or /w a smaller amount on the invoice, could save me a looot of sales taxes and stuff, y'a know - me just a student with no jooob and playing guitar under a bridge with my hobos ...)
well i don't know, just tell me what you think
offtopic: i once knew a small band-merchandise-shop, they shipped everything for free internationally, but from australia
now they moved to NY and see, no free shipping anymore
crazy world

Haha Lee, that's great!
Shoot me an email, ryan@drscientist.ca, and we'll come up with a brilliant plan to get you a pedal. I'd definitely trust the cheap method with Germany, I think that would be safe and I'm surprised you've had any problems.
