Has anyone thought about a name? Or are we just going with something like ILF Records or I Love Fuzz Records or whatever?

If we did want to go with something related to the ILF name we should talk to Tom about it.

...yep, anything officially ILF have to be checked by Tom. He IS the owner, after all. Unofficially ILF stuff and the forum generated stuff for the shits and giggles is another thing. :poke:

^ yeah.

I've been thinking about it, and it might be better to just keep it separate from ILF, even though we'll be based in ILF. No legal issues or anything in the future. Not that there would be, but I just like things to stay clean and safe.

Good call. Never thought about that.

Let me think of some names.

As far as the label name, we can keep it separate, I don't have any ideas for one yet though. I would still hope to use it for the old noise comp logo so ill be emailing Tom about that today.

Tonight I'll be working on coordinating a plan with all those interested in getting this thing off the ground. We'll start by releasing the Noise Comp then we will go on to get a couple bands on the roster and go from there. As far as names go, Noise Comp and Noise Liberator both sound good to me actually. We'll have to do a vote or something.

Maybe come up with 5 and have contributing members vote.

Anyone else have other suggestions?

just kidding ;)

So I don't have much/any mastering, web design, usefull skillz, and I don't have enough time to get involved organizationally, but I love the idea. If I actually manage to get some music recorded in the next month, I'd love just having a network to get some of it spread around a little bit.

I think it should be something that doesn't imply too heavily one style of music. I think Noise Comp is loose enough since people can interpret "noise" in a lot of different ways rather than just noise music. And "comp" reflects the individual yet communal ethos.

Yeah I agree and we will definitely be mixing it up as far as genres go. I hope to get things going to a point where we can support every ILF member promote their bands/music. At the start we certainly don't have enough people to do art for or master everyone's bands. That means it'll be hard at first as far as who gets on and who doesn't. But my goal for the future is to make sure every member gets some support!

Obviously I'd love to take on anyone who doesn't need art or mastering services as that wouldn't put a huge strain on resources.

I'll try to get everything rolling tonight!

Ok so figured I'd lay out a plan and see what you all thought.

Basically I want to make a blog or free website to use as a home page with links to bands other sites (bandcamp, soundcloud, facebook, etc.). Also the blog would be updated with the happenings of the label and the bands. I think we will officially start by releasing the Noise Comp and then start releasing material for bands and promoting them etc. I know I have a few people already interested in releasing there stuff through it.

Any ideas as far as a free website or blog?
