I'll second skipping the Fuzz War, it was too scooped for my liking and not the most versatile fuzz. It would probably overlap your Muff a bit too.

I vote TAFM or Year4545. Or maybe a Dwarfcraft Robot Devil for some octave down glitchiness.

To be honest, the Fuzz War wasn't even a blip on my radar until I found out John Dwyer from Thee Oh Sees uses one. If you guys are unfamiliar with this band, they're a psychedelic garage punk band from San Fran. Great stuff. They have a prolific output, so I would suggest Carrion Crawler/ The Dream. If you're curious that is.

Oh and Ty Segall uses one too. Not a huge fan personally, but I dig his fuzz tones.

Jero has a Fuzzrite in spam for a good deal, and a PTP SM, which at higher intensity does this cool bloom thing.

Hahaha, Thee Oh Sees were the only reason I wanted a Fuzz War too.

I say Fuzzrite/ Maestro all the way. I've never checked out that many DBA pedals. But having read the OP and noticing "spaghetti western, surf,..." then what beats a Maestro or Fuzzrite? I used to have a Fuzz Factory. And I tried sooooo desperately to get it to cop that trebly, brash Fuzzrite kinda fuzz. It failed. In fact, since you have the Muff/Fuzzface ground covered, then adding the Fuzzrite would just about cover all your oldschool fuzz needs,no?

Of course, by now, all of this is probably a moot point :erm:

No moot points, still interested to hear what people have to say.

Thanks for the heads-up on Basic Audio. Was unfamiliar with them, and they seem awesome.

Captain Wampum--Did you end up getting a Fuzz War, or get something else?

Blooghost--You mentioned having a Fuzz Factory. What do you use now for "trebly, brash" fuzz?

Thanks again everybody, really appreciate the input

Well, I use absolutely nothing for brash, trebly fuzz! I'm in between boards at the moment( I flip all my pedals usually after recording an album and buy all new ones for the next-a bit OCD,but yeah). However, my next board will definitely have a Wolf Computer on it-which I have, currently, but cannot play until after xmas.( present from the Mrs.) One suggestion I may make to you is, check out Fuzzhugger FX Phantom Anything( ring,arcade,Seed,etc.). With that Phantom circuit of Tom's, you can roll back the tone knob to cancel out the octave effect and it gets reeeeeaaaallllll close to that Spaghetti Western kind of fuzz. And with the Phantom Ring/Arcade, you can do all that, plus octave up, pitch-jumping octave down glitches, and a slew of other supremely awesome tones. Definitely worth looking into

Nope, I decided on a ToneBender of some kind, but I haven't figured out which yet.
