for the low stuff, i'm gonna recommend a Treble Booster of some sort. i might check out that speaker cranker, but as far as boosts go, i hear incredible things about the Creepy Fingers Sugarboost. it gets a little fuzzy at higher volumes, but nothing wrong with that ;)

So I ordered a K-a-e-d-e-n from Ryan. Without even testing one.... I can boost my signal to step out and I can flavor the tone to taste too... But I would still like to get that dyanmic response like the Dark Driving. I guess I will have to get one of those too....unless they put both in one enclosure....

lapsteel, let us know how the K-A-E-D-E-N Drive works out for you. I'm interested to hear what you think.

The Kaeden drive...quick review.

Gear used: cherry lapsteel with p90s, Squier jagmaster, Randall solid state.

Well I have to be honest...I am a fan of the Fuzzrocious familly crew, but was a bit underwhelmed, at first. I actually though that it was broken. I could get much of a boost without having the gain knob well above 12 o' clock. and even then it kinda fuzzy. It actually felt like a tone sucker. Ryan assured me that this was the nature of the pedal, but that seemed hard for me to accept. Perhaps it was my setup, but either way I wasn' t enthralled. After consulting Ryan about the possibility of putting a higher voltage in, I tried it with a 12v power supply.

Okay now this was the surprise I was looking for! With a bigger power imput the pedal became much more versatile and the control were way more usable and interactive. I am able to get huge clean boosts, rich fuzzy-ish distortion, and everything in between. This pedal is capable of massive sustain at a variety of gain levels. I could only imagine what amazing tone would come out of a tube amp with this machine driving it. It is exactly what I wanted and the Fuzzrocious people really delivered. This pedal deserves 12v, and if you feed it this kind of power this little beast can serve to tear off heads or give a little pep to your signal depending on you inclination.posting.php?mode=reply&f=149&t=21164#

Note on the artwork: Clearly, Kaeden has talent. His choice of color reflects the various personalities of the pedal that adorns it. It is both complex and simple; dark and bright; random and specific... He must be inspired by the same things my boys are because their work is eerily similar. Loving it. I hope he was paid handsomely for his work (perhaps in candy)

Oh yeah it slipped my mind but I should mention that Kaeden drive is very responsive picking dynamics. Dig hard and it will respond with more crunch, like a good od should, and a more gentle approach cleans it up. Moreover, the volume knob interacts very well with the other controls, and can clean or dirty the signal at your will
