Latest amp in the shop

A kind offer, but I barely have room to store the instruments and amp I have currently. Another is out of the question for some time.

No problemo

I play a buddy's ENGL Screamer 50 in my pop-band. It's a great amp, totally underestimated it when they told me to play over that.

:hello:

Been lurking for ages, decided to go through with it.

They're great amps.

I've thought about getting rid of it but never went through with it because it just sounds great for whatever I want to play you don't even need to delicately EQ it for a week straight to get a good tone.

The previous owner abused it more than he should have, but it hasn't really let me down the past 1.5 years that I've had it for.

peavey delta 1x15. I used to think Fender hotrods were awesome, then I got this, and promptly set all other amps on fire. Tremololololo

Do you do anything with yours to tame the tube rattle?

Tube rattle? I haven't noticed any. I guess I play it quiet enough not to rattle, or loud enough to not hear the rattle?

I put some JJ tubes in it from eurotubes, sounds awesome.

Maybe it is just a classic 30 problem, and yeah you can only really hear it at certain volumes.
I think mine was Exaggerated by the environment: Concrete basement and duct work seemed to pick up those signals well.

I was thinking of upgrading my Blues JR with some JJ's you recomend?

Yes, I retube all my amps with JJs from eurotubes. They have stock arrangements for different amps, and if you want something specific (more headroom, less headroom, etc) they can come up with a set for you. Really good service and good prices.

tube rattle is a byproduct of combo amps in general, you can buy tube dampeners, they are plastic or silicon or whatever rings that go around the outside of tubes to provide some vibration dampening.

A range of different products

these are mucho expensive

Yeah when I had a classic 30 I got some automotive o-rings that seemed to do the trick but it took about a day of playing for them to stop smelling like burning rubber.

yea, you might need really high temp rings, maybe teflon coated to avoid melting

I have never tried them i dont have any combos

Just put my Sunn up on Craigslist, since I wasn't having much luck here. I feel like I'm losing a child :(

BUT! Good news is, I can post a new amp in this thread! I'll have either an Engl Blackmore or Orange Rockerverb 100 MK1 within the next couple weeks!
