Some white guilt brewin'

.
This is the thing about rich white dudes and the blues. People can't help what they are born into, from money and all its advantages all the way down to living on the street. Sometimes, a kid is born into relative comfort. Let's say a single mom with an okay support system from her mom and her brother. She works hard for the money (so you better treat her right), but rent is usually paid on time and food is on the table. However, they're living paycheck to paycheck and no money is being saved. Mom has no money. Mom's got the blues.
Then maybe at some point in his teens he gets into music, and like I'm pretty sure all of us, it consumes him. Classic rock is always on the radio. He likes it all but needs more so he looks elsewhere. In the hunt for his own music, he goes backwards. He hears something he's never heard before on an out-of-town radio station. DJ says it's Muddy Waters. He's staying with his cool uncle and the uncle's new trim, so he tells them about what he heard. Uncle Awesome shows him his own record collection and puts on Son House. He's singing about God (loving Him, fearing Him), women (liking them, touching them), and money (having none, wanting some). That's how he learns about the blues. It's also where he learns about the plight of black people at that time and it affects him. Son House has no money. Son House got the blues.
Then he grows up, works hard and gets a wife and kids and wants to give them things he never had. He wants to buy a house. Mom tells him its a good investment, and the little money he has can make more money. But then, the house needs a new roof because it's leaking. Then your kids get louder. They get older and need things so he buys them anything he can because he loves them but mostly to shut them up. His wife his kind and supportive as ever, but needs larger clothes. Thanks Visa!
He has
NEGATIVE $164,551.00. Damn right he got the blues.
But yeah since we're talking about music all that Clapton shit really does blow.
