Demos without DA BLOOZ

Post by Gearmond »

ezactly what it says on the tin.

i'm looking for guys that do demos that aren't just BLOOZ noodlin' fit for upper-middle-class-white-man, that actually show what a guitar/pedal is suited for, and such.

PGS Andy is pretty good about not just bloozin' it up in demos. I've heard The Jesus Lizard songs in his demos, "Shake Appeal" by The Stooges...lots of different stuff.
Maybe partying will help.

Mudfuzz and Wes Mantooth have good demos on their respective blogs too.

I agree. I love playing "Name that Tune" with Andy's demos. So many great riffs.

I also like a lot of the demos Catalinbread does. Especially the "Dirty Little Secret Does Shoegaze" video!

The only cure for that is to buy more pedals.

My favorite is Kayzer as well fo sho.

His demo of the lofi loop junky + super delay is probably the best thing I've ever seen on YouTube. I <3 you Kayzer.

i would liek him more if he would do also single coil stuff. but he comes from the metal area and mostly picks humbucker guitars for his demos.
and beside that you hear the acoustic strumming often - i hate that cause it distracts me.
but these 2 points are bitchin on very high level. else his demos are top notch and also my favorites.

I like most of the demos that the builders make themselves. SS/BS or Basic Audio Demos are great for example. I really loved that BEZFX demo for the Street Sweeper. There are exceptions though.

Prymaxe demos are great too. I like how they check out which way a pedal wants to be played and then take that to the extreme (like the Guns 'n Roses demo for that MXR distortion.) PGS Andy is pretty cool too.

I don't like demos that are just audio set to pictures of the pedal.
I find Gearmandude to be entertaining but not very informative.
kayzer plays a style that doesn't do anything for me. Also too many of his demos are echoed up.
