that all rosewood neck is gorgeous!

I love satin finish on necks too but I find that it gets pretty slick/glossy from wear. I have a Maton BB1200JH, my first satin finish guitar and probably my favorite instrument, but those slick spots appear in no time.

I'm planning on choosing mahogany for everything, FYI, because my Les Paul Faded Special w/P-90s is all mahogany. Not sure if it's a good idea, but I don't see why it wouldn't be.

My Les Paul Custom is all mahogany with an ebony fretboard, it's superb and about as black as I've seen on a fretboard. Ebony is also super smooth, low maintenance, and doesn't dry out as quickly as rosewood. I prefer ebony but all my other guitars are rosewood, ebony is a little harder to come by as a stock option, but a great choice!
