Amp Standby Switch Wiring Question - PLEASE HALP

Post by StopReferencing »

So the standby switch in my old Fender Twin Reverb broke right off - I bought a replacement, but it has six lugs. The original only has two. How the hell do I wire in the six-lug version?

Thanks!

The original was SPST (single pole, single throw), but what you have now is DPDT (double pole, double throw).

So, what you want to do is use only two lugs. You want to use any two lugs that are vertically adjacent to each other.

I just snapped a pic of a DPDT amp-sized switch I have on hand (although the voltage rating on this one isn't up to par for standby). So take a look below. You want to wire up using any of the following pairs of lugs:

1 and 2
2 and 3
4 and 5
5 and 6
