Max, never fear. My Streamer LX has active pickups and active preamp, and all three of my Fuzzhugger pedals work just fine.

That said, my Corvette $$ (passive pickups, active preamp) gets different results from the same pedals. Not better, different.

All of my worries have been taken care of, its just a choice of what I am going to get. It is either going to be a arc flash or Algal Bloom. I am leaning heavy on getting the arc flash but now I am leaning more towards getting more glitchy wolf computer esc tones out of this box.

Trust me I have been drooling on fuzzhugger.com for a solid week now.

best fuzz on earth--
goes from od, to dist, to fuzz
and the fuzz is easily controlled and you can actually play chords with it----
i got one a week or two ago and i am getting rid of all of my other fuzz----
non of the glitchy wild crap-- just sweet ass fuzz

its a bit of both. I definitely have a "sweet spot" setting, and maybe a secondary, but I still like the arc flash on bass better. i should probably do a demo, actually...

That Arc Flash demo has just about sold me, it has a wonderful gezzer butler sound too it and it has just about the right about buzz into and would sound FUCKING monstrous running into my ECT.

i would recommend arc flash osc > algal bloom with choke toggle at least...

I'm more than happy with my Phantom Octave equipped Jaguar bass. Thing is, as I recall the Phantom Octave doesn't care much for active pickups. I quickly learned that I prefer passive pickups, so I bought a set of passives and used the knobs and switches and cavities in my bass to fit in the fuzz circuit, route it to a battery, and solder in a volume after the effect and a tone between the pickup and the effect. There's a video where I talk way too much about it... You might not want to build it into your bass anyway...

I have more FuzzHugger products than Hanes products, largely because Tom is all over customer satisfaction and entirely unafraid of an unconventional request. Hell, I think he loves a "challenge". Email him! He'll figure out exactly what you want, and build it if he doesn't have it already!
