The amount of stages affects how many notches are in the signal. 8 stage phasers have a much more resonant and intense sweep than a 4 stage.

An envelope-controlled phaser that can have the envelope control either the depth of the LFO or phase shift frequency (at least I think that's what it is). Awesome.
