No, I really don't need one more than the other. I'm just really looking forward to trading some pedals I've had for awhile (that I don' use) for a new guitar.. and these are the two I both dig and think they're priced reasonably.

I was just wondering, is there any reason why ruokangas uses nitrocellulose on the neck but polyurethane on the body? I was always under the impression that nitro was the best?

Where did you see that the body was poly? From what I understood, the entire guitar was nitro and that the wood underwent an aging treatment to simulate the effects of old wood (why vintage guitars typically sound better).

from their website:
MOJO CLASSIC SPECIFICATIONS:
Body:
Handcrafted of Finnish Alder
Solid, 2-piece
Thermo Treated bodywood
Gloss polyurethane finish
Neck:
Handcrafted of Rock Maple
Bolt-on construction
Indian Rosewood fretboard
Thermo Treated neckwood
2-way adjustable truss rod
25.5” scale length
12” fretboard radius
Celluloid dot fret markers
Dot side markers
21 nickel/silver frets
Moose shin bone nut
Ruokangas compensated nut position
Satin nitrocellulose finish

I'm sure its an awesome guitar, and I'm sure if the body is poly they have a good reason for it, but I found it strange and just wondered if anyone knew what was up with that. I've never seen a high end guitar without a nitrocellulose finish. Especially since they use it on the neck. Just wondered. :idk:

I actually have the spec sheet from Ruokangas, and this particular one has a custom aged nitro finish.

It actually has quite a few upgrades, including matches mojo blues pickups and stainless frets along with the custom aged nitro finish.

Seems like a lot of trade value/money to throw away on one of two guitars that you're basically getting just to get, if you know what I mean. I know that the economy is terrible and buying/trading stuff is on the backburner for basically everyone, but still. Don't go for a "deal" just because it is there. Especially if the deal involves trading $2200 worth of pedals for a guitar that you'll likely flip, but that no one has heard of - let alone wants to drop over 2k on.

If you had $2200-$2300 for a gear-related purchase, would you buy either of them flat out?

I just can't see throwing that kind of money away - cash or trade value - on something you aren't sure about.

I get what you're saying, but from where I sit, the trade is pretty heavily in my favor.. and with not too many bites on the gear I'm getting rid of, it seems to make the most sense. Worse comes to worse, I have a guitar sitting around not getting used instead of a shelf full of pedals sitting around not getting used :idk:

I hear you. I'm big on eliminating stuff lately.

Please say you got the Dynamico. I love my Univox hi-flier bass. Those mosrite types just sit right on my body. Clearly this means it will sit right on yours.
