Help Me Choose a New Guitar Day!!!

Post by aporcelainsky »

Alright guys, here are the choices:

Ruokangas Mojo Classic

or

Dynamico Swingin 66

The Ruo costs $2325, the Dynamico is $2175. The difference in asking prices is slight, however the Ruo is used whereas the Dynamico is brand new.

These choices have been gnawing at me all week :(

color no good?

I figured the Dynamico would get more votes on here because it's neat looking, whereas the Ruo just has a neat looking head stock :/

If YOU like Light blue then go for it. Personally I think white or black would be neat, but I am not buying the thing, so it's your call.

..not really. they look like some 60s imagination of what futuristic guitars should look like, whereas teles are just plain timeless class ;)

Well, I'm kind of limited on choices. I'm trading a few of my pedals for one of the guitars on a dealer's site, and I have a trade value of about $2200.

With that said, I think both are "good" (if not great) guitars. The Dynamico is made with fantastic woods that similar looking 60's style guitars are/were not. It's also hand made instead of mass produced like many of the vintage 60's style guitars. So I can understand the new price tag of $2200.

The Ruo apparently has a very good reputation and not only ages the finish but he also has a special process to age the wood. That and the builder takes the time to make each guitar personally from bare wood, he's not simply making a partscaster.. so again, I can justify a high price tag on that. I'm not sure if this particular price is the best one, but there have been a few other people who said it was in the ball park of a good used price. If anyone knows otherwise, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!

Anyway, all your opinions are VERY MUCH appreciated. Keep em' coming!

Sell the pedals separately instead of trading in -- free up your choices.

...then buy a real telecaster (or a G&L Bluesboy) :p

I think they're both honking ... and not in a good way.
Good deals done with all these guys

I've been trying to sell some of these pedals for months.. really not making much headway working that route.

I figure the Ruo is a better investment, since it's already used and therefore even if I realize I don't like I can still sell it for ~2k... the Dynamico is a bit more risky.
