I recently made a guitar purchase; a little shocked on what I landed on. What happened is that I am on a ton of Zoom/WebEx/Teams meetings or whatever and I start to daydream about being a shred guitar god. So, I finally said to myself fine, get a damn guitar and get this over with...you're an alright bass player who enjoys farting around with modular synths.
I looked at Floyd Rose guitars, got real about not dealing with that and somehow landed on a Pueblo Pink EBMM Mariposa. So sexy but so much for trying to spend ~$650 but absolutely no more than a $1000 if it is just an amazing deal plan
So, now - I do need to keep it chill and get a decent combo amp but not break the bank.
I am looking for a tube amp that can be loud enough but not overly loud & basically has an easy button for getting a decent recording sound. I don't have to have the best cleans so passable will work - I am wanting good baked in gain tones so my pedals mini-fuck and fuzzes can push it to the next level. So, I guess a quasi-pedal platform.
The Marshall DSL40CR looks to be a solid choice. Should I consider anything else? I will say the Orange Rocker 32 is calling to me - I like the idea of a stereo rig, stereo fx loop (plug a poly synth in too) - if it had that easy button for recording; I would probably fold and spend more than I should again. I am really trying to stick to the budget guidance that I was attempting to apply to the guitar spend ~$650 but absolutely no more than a $1000 if it is just an amazing deal.
Thanks!
