Yall already know I snapped one up. Finally have a 3 tier Moog tower and a dfam in one of my eurorack cases. Fuck yeah. Should be here tomorrow, stoke is real on this one. I remember contemplating spending $1500 on a Moogfest version a while back, glad I didn’t.

Nice!
I want a 3-tier tower with Subharmonicon, DFAM, and Spectravox now. Definitely not down to pay for a Moogfest version of the Spectravox though. They better release that next.
Also, looks like mine won't be here until Tuesday now, but it looks like I'll also be getting a Neunabar Immerse that day as well

I don't really feel the need for it right now but aesthetically speaking I would maybe like a 3 tier moog setup at some point in the future.

I don't know what I'd do with it but I love everything I'm hearing from this. Are there other things out there that do polyrhythms like this? Maybe something that's more of a straight drum machine?

Not an "out of the box" drum machine but the Waldorf Blofeld can do this without too much trouble. Just hit the RANDOMIZER button a few hundred times until Blofeld creates... THE FUCKING AWESOME THING.oldangelmidnight wrote:I don't know what I'd do with it but I love everything I'm hearing from this. Are there other things out there that do polyrhythms like this? In eurorack, Trigger Riot.

Every couple of months or so I get a reason to GAS for the blofeld again.mr. sound boy king wrote:Not an "out of the box" drum machine but the Waldorf Blofeld can do this without too much trouble. The subharmonicon with a DFAM looks like suuuuuuch a fun setup. I would love one of those. The three tier with a M32 would be an amazing tower too

I'd heard about the blofeld a lot before but never looked into it too deep. Now... kinda looks ok?

Re: The Moog Subharmonicon Threadiconomicon
First glance yeah. It has a lot of menu diving and subsequently can do a whole bunch of stuff. I've heard some great stuff coming out of that thing. Look at this video for instance:coldbrightsunlight wrote:I'd heard about the blofeld a lot before but never looked into it too deep. Now... kinda looks ok?

Re: The Moog Subharmonicon Threadiconomicon
So the Subharmonicon was delivered yesterday and I've had a couple chances to mess around with it.
Pros: it sounds really, really good and it is really easy to dial in some really nice chords and pads. Not very surprising, but it pairs with the Matriarch very well!
Cons: it would be nice to have some sort of LFO and the sequencers are a bit too short. You can make some cool evolving sequences by mixing different polyrhythms, but it would be nice if you could chain them together to at least make an 8 note sequence. I still have a lot to explore with the sequencer though.
Overall, I think it's totally worth buying, but I wouldn't want it to be my first or only synth.

Re: The Moog Subharmonicon Threadiconomicon
It would be a very strange first or only synth.
The lack of modulation is one of the things that really put me off when I looked into it. Yeah I could patch it in but I want something with a bit more inside the box.

Re: The Moog Subharmonicon Threadiconomicon
Since it's the type of synth with a built in sequencer that puts out less predictable patterns for a change I wonder how crazy it could get when you pair it with like a Malekko Charlie Foxtrot, one of the Red Panda pedals or Montreal Assembly's Count to Five in Nightly mode 1 or record it into their 856 for Zellersasn for further addition of layers and variations.
