i want.

i'm also trying to wait until i can snag one at a discount - fuck prymaxe, but 25% off is tempting.

but i want. bad. but i also think moog are complete turds for not including an on/off switch on their synths. makes no sense to me.

I ordered one! I can't wait for it to get here!

Also, posted this over in the modular thread, but I'll repost here. As per the standard release process, there are so many Subharmonicon videos out now:

Need to watch a couple of detailed videos to check how much I want it but I like what I'm hearing so far.

Hmm. Watched more demos over lunch, and on the one hand I totally love it, looks incredibly fun. On the other, I'm not sure if it really fits into my setup. :idk:

I do see how the sequencer/rhythm section may not fit into any setup as easily, but the VCO/VCF/VCA side could be used with other controllers. It's not quite as exciting in that context, though.

Yeah that's the side that is replicated by the M32 more or less though.

Ya I have the mother 32, and what puts me off is that the core sound of this is, basically the same as that with less flexibility. The sequencing and subharmonics side I think would actually be great for me, but it just sounds like the thing I already have haha. Which is a lovely sound! But... the same?

More or less, just a lot more oscillators available on the Subharmonicon.

The way I see it, since I have other controllers, I would rather have the Subharmonicon since it has a more interesting oscillator layout and has the polyrhythmic sequencer. I've had multiple Mother 32s in the past and I always flipped them because they don't really do anything truely special in my opinion.

Yeah I can understand that. I like the M32 precisely because it doesn't really do anything particularly special lol. It's a very nice classic synth voice with some great extra features like patching. I like the ease of getting what I'm looking for in it, but there's still room for experimentation. :idk:

Subharmonicon obviously goes a lot deeper in certain directions with the extra oscillators and different sequencing. I can see the separate uses for both

I wasn't trying to bash the M32 there, but I realized it kind of came off that way. The M32 is also a wonderful synth that sounds amazing; it does the subtractive synth thing very, very well. I just never really got along with it because I always wanted to add more to it. At the very least, I felt like I needed another oscillator to pair it with, which is why I had two of them and a small selection of euro modules for awhile. I can definitely see the separate uses and the pros/cons of both.

Oh no, haha this is all personal preference stuff.

I want another thing (maybe this) for more oscillators to work with it, and I use it plugged into my eurorack half the time. So I am totally in agreement.
