Re: Pedals with CV Connections
Lots of Boss pedals also take CV or gates/triggers in their expression inputs. I've done that with DSD-2/3, DD-20 and I need to test it with my PS-3s...

Re: Pedals with CV Connections
IIRC most LAL stuff has cv? At least the cyber psychic had

Re: Pedals with CV Connections
Digitech RDS rack delay has CV.
All the fun of a PDS pedal, except with a better LFO circuit and available headroom.

like this thing?vidret wrote:in a pedal format there's the copilot, right? and the ehx one. it does go some of the way, but you'd be hard pressed to create the ultimate CV controller and not turn everyone off because they wanted something simplecrochambeau wrote:So, what I'm hearing is that there needs to be a utility CV source that can translate between +/-5, +0-10 & +0-5 (am I missing anything? Question: what sonic functions should that sort of thing offer?
I think a wah-case with variable voltage and some lfo options on there would be nice. or go all in.
It NEEDS several inputs/outputs whatever, no use having ONE pedal just to control one other. 3 outputs at least.

i'm glad i can call you a friend. even if i'll never see you again

Not the curiosity strikes, how many of these pedals with CV connections are compatible with the voltage range of eurorack? I, like DoS, need to learn more.

Do they break beyond one volt?UglyCasanova wrote:I know some can only handle <1V
Yeah, I'm not really interested in designing a controller - I am however interested in supporting CV utilities (and universal compatibility), and translating between fixed ranges or ratios seems like an important function that isn't super widespread and can fit under a single panel control.vidret wrote:you'd be hard pressed to create the ultimate CV controller and not turn everyone off because they wanted something simple
Regarding RMA, there is more CV intent on the drawing board. I do feel compelled to point out that so far what I've built is quite limited in the face of potential that control voltage provides, but eventually it'll get more fleshed out.
That Copilot Broadband graphic hurts my eyes.

Re: Pedals with CV Connections
Standard modular run bipolar power supplies (usually in the +/- 15 volt range) so there is inherently a much larger range of voltage swing available than what you can manage on a 0-9 supply. For a pedal to keep up would require a little engineering to track correctly, and to *deliver* would entail a fair bit more. For the most part, I think it boils down to a "yeah, that sounds good, move the fuck on" implementation (at least on my desk), so cross format compatibility has historically taken a hit.psychic vampire. wrote:Not the curiosity strikes, how many of these pedals with CV connections are compatible with the voltage range of eurorack? Re: Pedals with CV Connections
I use a WMD/SSF Quad attenuator (passive, $69 new) to reduce the CV from my eurorack modules to a level that works with my Digitech RP360, which is set up for a mono CV connection. It is basically a 'by ear' type of deal, but if I need more precision I have Roland modules that can be set up for voltage scaling/curve conversion, and mono or TRS connection.

Re: Pedals with CV Connections
The Pigtronix Ringmaster has a CV out (linked to its follow, LFO, and sample hold functions), which I was using to control a WMD Geiger Counter and Moog Minifooger Trem and Flanger earlier today. A Red Panda Bitmap, Malekko Scrutator, and Moog Minifooger Boost will be the next subjects in the current CV experiment. Unfortunately, the Dr Scientist Bitquest and Boss RV-500 did not seem CV compatible. Now I'm hankering for an EHX 8 Step Program.

See the New Wave CV generator from Fredrik at Parasit studios. I think he sells assembled units. The 8 step is cool too
