Pedals with CV Connections

Post by psychic vampire. »

Exactly what it says. After seeing that new WMD filter demo that was posted, thinking about more of these. I know Ezhi&Aka will add them for a fee, i know the Dwarfcraft ARF and Twin Stags have the connections. What other pedals am i glaringly missing?

The BIG moogerfoogers take CV, but at a much lower range than WMD and Dwarfcarft, IIRC.
There was a squarewave synth in a pedal box that took a CV in, but I can't fuckin remember which one. SORRY!
I think we'll see a LOT more of this in the future, it's so much fun. I mean, to play with. Not to make. That part is a pain.
We're working on like 4 more CV buddies, hopefully one done for summer!

RMA stuff
Frostwave
Ada Flanger(?)
Goatkeeper(?)
Lots of EHX stuff (ring thing, hog, memboy)
Empress (at least the phaser and the delay can take up to 5V)

Make sure you check the voltage they're able to take.

Is it bad that even after getting into modular I still have no fucking clue how CV works?

That is awesome to hear! Both about more Dwarfcraft, and those ones that exist, UC. I, personally, am mostly looking for eurorack compatibility. I was of the impression the moogerfoogers used a different voltage range than Eu. Never saw a CV jack on my HOG though? Or the Ring Thing?

Well yeah, I don't know why there are so many "almost" compatible devices, it's by far the most popular modular format. I also didnt know about any CV jacks on EHX stuff...

All copilot except the arrow airwaves, planetoid and antenna, accept exp and/or cv signals (0-5v)

vidret wrote:i hate how the CV ranges are different. thought my goatkeeper would be like.. if my pedals were goats, it'd be the keeper of the goats, but only the ones with CV. but since they don't have the correct CV range they can't be kept. it's just keeper now. not even that. just goat.
So, what I'm hearing is that there needs to be a utility CV source that can translate between +/-5, +0-10 & +0-5 (am I missing anything? I know some formats go hogwild, but variable between -5 & +10 volts should cover MOST bases, right?)

Question: what sonic functions should that sort of thing offer?

Expression inputs. They take some voltage. Don't recall the value, but look it up.

Edit: 0-5V on all the ones I mentioned. Check the online pdf manuals for any other ehx pedal. I know some can only handle <1V

I think any EHX pedal (at least XO ones) with an expression jack will accept CV.
I'm pretty sure that's how the 8-Step program works.
Then again, I haven't delved deep into the newer EHX pedals.
Since I always forget:

Lots of Boss pedals also take CV or gates/triggers in their expression inputs. I've done that with DSD-2/3, DD-20 and I need to test it with my PS-3s...
