I can't wait for the new ish of Delusional Synth Owner to arrive. I bet there's an awesome tear-down spread and am actively synthesizing money shot images in my parietal lobe. Damn your sluggoth eyes, USPS!

Well it's tri-timbral, so you could play a 5-note chord across 3 different layers (for 15 voices utilized). I play a lot of shell voicings and 7th chords, so this is great for creating more unique textures. It has individual inserts, too, so you can go L1/reverb + L2/phaser + L3/delay. All the extra voices mean you could do a drone/soundscape underneath a bright sound with a faster decay. Or you could go organ(like) + piano(like) + modular(like). The layers can use different arpeggios and sequencers, so you could play full chords over a sequence or a separate arpeggio.oscillofuzz wrote:It's probably the best standalone synth I've ever heard, but as a synth noob (from the perspective of owning/playing them at least) I wonder: what is the point of having 16 voices when you only have 10 fingers to simultaneously play it with?

Just ten fingers means you're not trying hard enough...

Essentially, you can play multiple voices with one key press in unison mode. It also sounds like you can run a sequence and play chords on top of it, which would take up a few more voices. The Moog One tri-timbral architecture lets you easily assign, split, layer, and stack voices with up to 48 oscillators in Unison mode.
EDIT: oops, missed this page and all the people that beat me to that answer...

Thanks for the explanation guys, after watching that half hour long Sweetwater video the whole layering aspect made a lot more sense.

Re: Moog One (poly synth for bachelors & rock stars)
That seems like an excellent idea, but can I perhaps suggest putting the engine into a vehicle of some sort instead? Unless of course it's a talking piece in the garage next to the Natty Light drinking spot obvs.odontophobia wrote:I ain’t no tri curious. I’m a manly man.dubkitty wrote:i'm tri-curious

The actual demos sort of killed my GAS for it, though.
Moog video: beautiful and inspiring
Demo people: CHEKC OUT THESE FEATURES WHILE I PLAY JAZZZY SHIZZ
This seems to be the only synth I’ve seen that doesn’t have “real” limitations. Those string sounds fooled me too. I mean, I can get 90% of the way there with my Roland Boutiques, but that’s not going to stop me from wanting this monster.
