I think it was Jan Hammer who gave an interview, where he said that he chose a Prophet-5 (then $5,000) over a car and has never looked back---still doesn't drive. ;)
I know Hans Zimmer said he chose a Minimoog over a car and that he still doesn't drive.

He did. about 5:10--- :thumb:

This is also attributed to Zimmer.

Never let your wife prevent you from buying equipment. A house will not buy a synthesizer, but a synthesizer can buy a house.
I'll have to do some more digging, because feel like someone definitely said something similar about the P5 (maybe not about abstaining from driving forever, but that the P5 proved to be a better investment than a car).

Yeah, you should absolutely take gear economics advice from boomers who grew up in rich, musical, city-dwelling families where you didn't have to buy a car to get around.

You could tell it was a shop from a few of the pixels and having seen some shops before in your time?
Did I actually state affirmatively that it wasn't a rendering, or did I imply (by sharing it on the date of the announcement) that it was perhaps a credible rendering?
Oh no the phrasing just reminded me of that classic(?) meme.

I'm definitely excited for this! No idea how I'll ever afford it, but I'll hopefully find a way someday

The specs of this alone make me aroused. It's an incredible technical achievement.

I want this. It'll take a lot of self control to save up for it, but I think it'll be worth it. Can't wait to hear it.

This is some holy grail shit and even though I will never buy this, I'm stoked that it exists in a world saturated with Stranger Things theme covers on Minilogues. There hasn't been much happening at the very top end of self contained Analog Synths for a while and I'm just excited to hear people do some outrageous bullshit with this. I really don't think you could ask for more from an analogue synth.

Literally it is only 300 a month for 2 years. I think I could swing that. Also my girlfriend would kill me.
