Saw GiTS again after finding a near expired movie voucher.

My original thoughts are pretty much cemented; Very pretty, with a realized world and a neat OST. But it's just a streamlined retelling of an already told and mimicked story. Expect a 3/5 star movie and have an incredibly cheesy good time. Outside of the 1990s, you just simply can't have actors say "Hacking", "Deep Dive" or "Upgrades" without it being cheesy as fuck.

Again, i'd still defend Scarlett's performance.

^ Generally good acting, great soundtrack, but the changes made to the story, bad guy and focus on the major's backstory fucked things up. I'm all for them doing their own twist on the story, but not when it ends up worse.

In other news, Attack On Titan season 2 is on, just watched ep1. Potato Girl is still awesome.
Finished the second episode yesterday. The first two episodes have been next level boring.

Uchouten Kazoku 2 finally started and that's all I needed. Was hyper surprised this show got a second season at all.

I finally got a crunchyroll account and I'm a little overwhelmed by the number of options. What would you guys recommend?

I like scifi stuff like CowboyBebop, Psycho Pass, Dimension W, Steins;Gate, etc. I also reall like stuff like One Punch Man, Fist Of The North Star, and JoJo's Bizzare Adventure. I'm watching Berserk (I'm not sure what to think of it yet), as well as the new Attack On Titan season.

Yeah, I'm hoping they're building up to something worth watching.

Also; Little Witch Academia series? I approve. If I were a twelve year old girl I'd probably be in a happiness induced coma by now.

I watched Evangelion because I felt like it was obviously my kind of thing. It's got terrible pacing (in a 'too much going on I can't keep up' way) up until about the last ten eps when it gets more introspective and weird. AND THEN THE ENDING! :wha?:

The last two eps are like a zero-budget david lynch daffy duck descartes cartoon (descartoones?). If they could have pulled off one more giant robot fight after that it would have been awesome. I haven't yet seen End of Evangelion, so for all I know they have done that, but I've watched nothing else quite like it.

Yea they completely ran out of budget by the end of the original run, those episodes are still pretty cool.

I'd watch End of Evangelion though, bonus points if you do it high as all hell.

Also fun fact about EoE (not really a spoiler, I just enjoy this tidbit so much):
There are times where they'll flash letters on the screen, and those letters were death threats from fans about the original ending of Evangelion

I love everything about that franchise. I love the last episodes, END OF EVANGELION, I love the re-builds as well (although still haven't watched my 3.33 blu ray). The re-builds are amazing cause it's just a different take on the original plus a bunch of stuff they added that is awesome.

Did I read they were bringing COWBOY BEBOP back? That was another "Adult Swim Core" I adored.

I love bebop but I'm kind of hoping they leave it alone. there's just enough to rewatch once in a while without being too monumental.

Yeah. I'm really not into this trend of bringing back old shows. I'm cautiously optimistic about the new FLCL stuff, but that's about all I can muster.

I watched the first two GitS Arise thingies and they were pretty mediocre, nothing I've heard about the rest of it has motivated me to buy more of it. I would have bought the SAC blurays but they were stupid expensive, like >£50 for half a season or something iirc.

Hype on new My Hero Academia. Also watching Re:Creators, Eromanga Sensei and Love Tyrant (because I'm a creep.)

My opinion on the second season of Hero Academia relies entirely on how much Frog Girl I get. :snax:

I'm almost done with the first season of Eccentric Family, I was not ready for feels.
